Beta scholars saw baby April and her mom in person, when they took their field trip to the Houston Zoo. The giraffe feeding platform provided our Kindergartners one-on-one time with the tall animals. Scott Vu, our on-the-scene reporter, said, “They like only big lettuce, not small ones.”

Maya Webb experienced the thrill of meeting a leopard with the same name as hers.


Zaire Zavala from Ms. Simmon’s class was asked which animal was the prettiest and he responded, “All the insects . . . because they bite.”

You might think exhaustion would quickly follow, but they still had a dance in their steps when they returned to class, as Jacek Harris from Ms. Wilson’s class demonstrated.
